Seventh seed Yasir Butt raced into the last four of the President PSF International after upsetting fellow Pakistani Shamsul Islam Khan in just 17 minutes in today's quarter-finals of the PSA Tour event at the Jansher Khan Complex in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
The 18-year-old from Lahore brushed aside his fourth-seeded opponent 11-6, 11-4, 11-3 and will now face compatriot Mansoor Zaman for a place in the final. Second seed Zaman defeated unseeded opponent Safeer Ullah Khan 11-5, 11-10 (2-0), 8-11, 11-7.
The other semi-final will also be an all-Pakistan affair, between top seed Aamir Atlas Khan and third seed Farhan Mehboob. Khan, the 16-year-old nephew of the centre's patron Jansher Khan, dismissed sixth seed Bilal Zaman 11-5, 11-7, 11-6, while Mehboob, the Asian Junior Champion, fought back from two games down to overcome Majid Khan 10-11 (0-2), 8-11, 11-8, 11-6, 10-5 after the fifth seed retired injured at match-ball in the decider.
